Body condition score in sheep aiming their reproductive and productive efficiency

Ovine production is a technology that has been increasing in Brazil, because of that it is very important to know more about this animal specie, improving the creation systems, to have better reproductive rates, increasing the productions scale. The aim of this review is to value the body condition score of sheep aiming the reproductive and productive efficiency, through this valuation is estimated the nutritional state of the sheep, which is a subjective measure based on the classification of animals through a valuation scale in function of muscle covering and fat mass, so, through this method get a higher birth rate, fertility and prolificacy among the sheeps and finally, correlated the finishing of lamb carcass, providing carcasses with high muscle proportion and suitable fat distribution, pleasing the consumer taste.
