Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of ethanol and the effect of an unbalanced diet on male reproductive system. We used ten male Wistar rats, with five rat in the control (C) and five rats were subjected to involuntary intake of ethanol solution 10% (A). We analyzed the body mass of animals, the mass of the right testicle, the mass of the right epididymis, the prostate mass, the mass of the seminal vesicle, and intake of liquid. The body weight of the group (C) showed a difference in weight gain, compared to the group that voluntarily consumes ethanol solution 10%. Consumption of liquid significant difference between the group (C) and (A). The masses of the right testis, right epididymis and prostate were not significantly different, since the seminal vesicle was different. We conclude that chronic ingestion of ethanol has a direct action on the male reproductive system.
