Abstract

Bovine cysticercosis is a parasitic cosmopolitan. However, the macroscopic diagnosis of bovine cysticercosis is usually cause for doubt among health inspectors during a routine inspection. Microscopically, it is considered as typical of the reactions by the cysticerci, a rim of tissue and a zone of epithelioid granulation tissue at the periphery, where atrophy can be observed. At a later stage are observed necrotic changes, inflammation, especially eosinophils, palisading histiocytes and multinucleated giant cells. This study aimed to assist the Inspection Service in the diagnosis of bovine cysticercosis, through the identification of calcareous corpuscles in histopathology.
