Consumer profile of animal origin product in Rio Verde, GO

Abstract

Two hundred questionnaires were applied in Rio Verde, GO, to investigate the consumer profile and the factors that influence the purchase of animal origin products (AOP). The main location where the consumers buy the AOP is the supermarket. Among the interviewed, 42.6% do not have restriction about the consumption of the different AOP, however, a higher percentage of consumers prefer the beef meat. Among the consumers, 52.8% were feminine, 29.6% had completed the high school and 41.1% had familiar income up to three minimum salaries. It was concluded that the PAO consumer in Rio Verde, GO, is predominantly feminine, with completed high school, familiar income up to three minimum salaries, with no restriction about the consumption of the different PAO types that are purchased in supermarkets, and that consider quality and price factors at the purchase moment.
