Abstract

Cranial cruciate ligament disease associated or not with other affections is one of the most common causes of lameness and knee pain in dogs. In that study, a retrospective analysis of 15 cases attended at the Veterinary Hospital (HV) of the University of Passo Fundo (UPF) was carried out, which were sent to perform a surgical procedure as treatment and correction of the condition in the period from January 2015 to August 2018. The animals were submitted to a modified Hulse technique, which uses a fascia lata flap for reconstruction of the cranial cruciate ligament. It was concluded that with the modified Hulse technique it was possible to surgically intervene dogs of small and large size, presenting good functional return of the limbs.
