Abstract

There is still a lot to be discovered about cattle’s requirement and absorption of amino acids. The ruminants’ pre-stomachs have a fundamental role in the digestion of nitrogenous compounds, besides of altering significantly diet composition. Researches related to digestion, absorption and requirements of proteins and amino acids in cattle are made since decades ago, which demonstrates the complexity of this issue, that is still current. This paper aims to clarify concepts related to amino acid requirement and absorption in cattle.
