Abstract

Thirty pigs line "Agroceres" AG-1050 were used, obtained from abortions or natural deaths, from 90 to 115 days of gestation, breeding in the city of Patos de Minas - MG, in which the objective was analyze the origin and distribution of the sciatic nerve. The descending thoracic aorta was cannulated for injection in the craniocaudal direction of 10% formaldehyde, and the parts kept submerged in this solution for a minimum of 48 hours before the start of the dissections. The sciatic nerve originates from the ventral branches of spinal nerves L5 to S2 and sends branches to the deep gluteal, glúteobíceps, biceps femoris, semimembranosus, semitendinosus.
