Abstract

The purpose of this study is a review of sheep grazing, whose agenda included the eating habits of these animals. The sheep industry in Brazil began in the South with wool production in the Northeast, meat and milk, but with loss of the wool market in recent decades has leveraged cutting the sheep industry, growing in the Midwest, Sao Paulo, Parana and Santa Catarina for this accelerated growth rhythms so, they think of a review on the importance of creativity in the framework of national production, consumption and shows the characteristics of the sheep, through the use of forage, in which Brazil is favored by land area and the most varied climate, with emphasis on grazing behavior, in the habit of sheep and nutritional requirements. The main farming activity in Brazil is cattle and sheep industry in this context is inserted through the integration Sheep x Bovine, as an alternative to the rancher, in addition to maximizing the use of pasture and reduce the incidence of worms in the sheep flock, which is the major concern of the creator. The final consideration of this review include that the pastures are the basis for sustainable economic and productive system of sheep, provided you have good management, enter the forage in the system with the use of soil fertility, grazing pressure adjustment and parasite control for so have a good yield per cow and per hectare and a production with satisfactory profitability.
