Abstract

Currently in nutrition researchers are trying to resolve the issue of cost rations, because it has considerable weight in the final cost of production. The palm kernel cake, a byproduct of the extraction of palm oil is underused in livestock despite a production above 37,000 tonnes / year. Its chemical composition allows it to be used in diets for animals, yet little is known of its effect on species production and performance at different ages. This study aimed to deepen knowledge on the palm kernel cake for animal feed based on studies conducted so far.
