Abstract

In Brazil, the farming systems are characterized by the use of pasture as the main source of food, these grazing areas are estimated today at approximately 210 million hectares, pastures are in the most practical and economical way to feed cattle. This study aims to use grazing as a means of soil conservation. Recovery of pastures, especially those where there is no vegetation, presents greater difficulties and high costs, waste will be decomposed by the action of soil microorganisms and the decomposition gradually increases, generating an input of organic matter and forming the cover. The inclusion of pasture in agricultural areas may be an important mechanism to recover these degraded areas, the setting in pasture recovery technology is known, should be made. The practice setting, and provides calcium and magnesium, increases the pH of the soil and as a consequence, the availability of P and Mo and reduces the Al3 +, the Mn2 + and Fe3 +, which in excess they become toxic to plants and the rhizobia, grazing management has a very large impact on most of the processes involved in operating systems pastures.
