Abstract

Due to the ecological and social importance of the moco’s (Kerodon rupestres) captivity maintenance, the aim of this study is to describe the macro and microscopic morphology of the stomach of these animals, intending to study detailed the structure of organic systems related to the rational production of species like this. Ten mocos, male and female, were used. Macroscopically were observed the topography and external morphology of their stomach and support ways of this organ in the cavity as well. The dissected and analyzed structures were photographed. To identify the microscopy characteristics, regional pieces were collected and after laboratorial proceedings, were analyzed and documented by light microscopy.
