Correlation between weaning-to-estrus interval and duration of estrus in sows of farm trade

The objective of this study was to assess the correlation between WEI and DE in sows of commercial farm. Samples were collected in a barn full cycle of Brasilândia the municipality in Mato Grosso do Sul. Detection of estrus was made by ruffians, twice daily, with an interval of 7 hours between observations. For the analysis 183 females were used with PO of 1 to 9 and WEI between 24 and 168 hours. The statistical method used was the Pearson's coefficient at a significance level of 5%. Although low (Pearson = -0.293) was significant (p ≤ 0.05) negative correlation between the WEI and DE, and then factors to take into account for the formation of reproductive management on commercial farms.
