Abstract

The weaning of calves is important issue in the Brazilian cattle industry, allows optimizing the management and production and, consequently, achieve better economic results. In this context, supplementary feeding technique called creep-feeding can become very important and, as circumstances become indispensable requirement to shorten the time required for completion of slaughter animals, and provide significant relaxation of the matrix, resulting in improving their reproductive functions, because it relieves the burden it imposed productive. Moreover, supplementation should be judicious and appropriate conditions for the production of each system, requiring an assessment of each diet, indicating that there is balance between food and if the requirements are met, without unnecessary expenses of nutrients. This study covers the important points in the beef cattle industry, especially with regard to the supplementation of calves, emphasizing the facilities, food, handling animals and demonstrating the benefits and effects in animals subjected to the technique of creep feeding in order to keep up with technologies which Brazilian cattle is going through. The use of supplementation of calves with the use of creep feeding is to speed up the cycle of meat production as the production of young steers, and also improve efficiency reproductive efficiency.
