Abstract

Producing cattle grazing in an efficient and competitive requires knowledge of the production process, concepts of production systems, administration and business management strongly supported by comprehension and understanding of morphological and physiological responses of plants and animals grazing strategies. Given the pressures that afflicts us and the increasing prices of some energy sources, chemical fertilizers and declining productivity, it becomes necessary to seek alternatives that minimize the use of nonrenewable resources, while maximizing the use of agro-industrial residues as source of nutrients for agriculture, especially for grazing. Among these alternatives, we can highlight the use of some agro-industrial waste (poultry litter, swine manure, cattle manure, green manure) and other sources to provide compatibility with the farm in Brazil.
