Abstract

The nematode Spirocerca Lupi is a parasite that can lead to the formation of aortic aneurysm, a rare disease in dogs. The distribution of Spirocerca lupi is worldwide, in regions with tropical and subtropical climate. It is reported in this paper the case of a two-year-old dobermann bitch with a history of appetite loss, retching and apathy, treated at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Uberlandia. Before concluding the diagnosis, the animal died and was sent to the sector of necropsy, where a rupture of an aneurysm caused by Spirocerca Lupi was observed.
