Abstract

Brazil presents a great potential of forage production, however the largest productivity is defined at the time of high temperatures and raised humidity. The forage conservation for the silage method is a very spread practice, but that presents certain difficulties for the making of good silage quality. The grass ensilage is a good alternative to reserve the excess of production of the time of the waters to be used drought at that time. However, this material presents unfavorable characteristics as the humidity excess, high buffer capacity and lower tenor of soluble carbohydrates. These characteristics can be corrected when we used the addition that improve the fermentative characteristics of the ensilage, providing lesser losses for effluent, and with the increase of the dry matter. In this work went to study species more used, the factors that affect the quality of the grass ensilage, the techniques for manipulation of the fermentation and the effects on the nutritional value of the grass ensilage, as well as the supply form for obtained a good animal answer.
