Abstract

The objective of this work was to carry out a literature review on the quality and productivity of different sorghum hybrids destined for the ensiling process. Method: The present work was carried out through a bibliographical review, that is, a literary review of research carried out by authors on the topic described. Results: Sorghum produces a silage very close to that of corn, some sorghum hybrids manage to reach good levels of production and forage quality, when compared to corn hybrids and even among themselves. Some examples are the cultivars AG 2002, AG 2006 and AG2004E, which stand out for having good productivity and considerable nutritional levels, making them very promising hybrids for silage production. Conclusion: It can be concluded that among the evaluated hybrids, some are presented as an excellent option to be destined for the ensiling process. It is possible to observe that their productivity and quality reach very attractive levels, becoming a great option for preserved food for ruminants. Among them, AG 2002, AG 2006 and AG2004E stand out, presenting considerable CP and MS values, which gives them a differentiated condition compared to the others, making them promising forage hybrids of sorghum.
