Abstract

The coffee is a perennial plant of hot regions, mainly on the tropics. Its fruit is an important commodity and the second greater source of richness in the planet, losing only for the petroleum. Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora are the most economically important species. The presence of pollinators, such as bees, ensures higher productivity and grain quality, thus meeting market demand. Apis mellifera bees is considered the pollinator of greater agricultural importance in the world, due to be a generalist species and has been the most frequent in observations made in the coffee planting. Thus, in view of these aspects, the present study aims to gather data on coffee culture and its productivity in Brazil.
