Abstract

Complications associated to the absence of surgical repair of pelvic fractures may result in chronic constipation, fecaloma and pelvic canal narrowing. The aim of this report is to describe the complications and the treatment of pelvic canal stenosis due to the absence of reduction and fixation of ilium body in a seven-month-old, 10 kgs, female, intact, mongrel dog, presented with clinical signs of constipation, tenesmus and pelvic pain, admitted at Veterinary Hospital of the University of Franca (UNIFRAN - SP). The dog responded well to the surgical treatment.
