Abstract

Classical Swine Fever (CSF) is a disease that affects pigs and according to the World Organization of Animal Health is mandatory notification. The objective of this study was to report the monitoring and surveillance of classical swine fever in technical and non-technical pig farms in the Zona da Mata region of the State of Rondônia. For this, 66 serological samples from 36 properties were collected and tested by the commercial kit ELISA (CSFV, IDEXX Laboratories). The investigation was carried out by the Agrosilvopastoral Sanitary Defense Agency of the State of Rondônia in 2017, in two periods, from May 29 to June 23 and November 27 to December 22. The results showed that 100% of the 66 serological samples tested did not present anti-PSC antibodies. Serological monitoring and surveillance of pig farms are of great importance to maintain the status of the State of Rondônia as PSC free, being in this period of the study the region of Zona da Mata as free of PSC.
