Determinants of man and animal interaction

The interaction between humans and animals is of great importance and can, however, acquire a positive or negative character, depending on the type of relationship established. The veterinarian is the most important professional in this interaction, which may act and influence and be effective to its success, depending on your knowledge on the subject. The objective was to investigate the presence of association between having animals in childhood and affinity for animals in adulthood. A sample of 111 veterinary students was evaluated by means of a questionnaire the situation of two variables under study. After collection, the data was typed into a database, created using the software EpiInfo 2000. The results showed a significant difference (P <0.05) between having the animal in childhood and having the animal in adulthood. In conclusion there was no association between having an animal in childhood and affinity for an animal in adulthood.
