Abstract

Ganglioneuroma is a rare benign tumor that typically occurs in adults, most often in the posterior mediastinum and retroperitoneum. In most cases is asymptomatic and when symptoms are triggered due to mass effect. This neoplasm represents a more differentiated group that affects the sympathetic nervous system. It is considered by most authors as benign equivalent of neuroblastoma. For approximately three months, a cow Nelore elite, aged 24 months, who lived in the bay contained, presented the following clinical signs: diarrhea, weight loss, weakness, and dehydration. There was the presence of a benign tumor that affected the myenteric plexus of Auerbach located in the intestinal submucosa, exactly in the smooth muscle, called the naming of ganglioneuroma.
