Abstract

Staphylococcal enterotoxins are proteins that belong to risk Category B of biological agents, the exposure to which results in food poisoning, T cell stimulation, immunosuppression to death in humans and livestock. The risk of exposure to enterotoxins is associated with the availability and ease of dissemination by aerosols, foodstuff and water. Given the epidemiological impact of accidental or intentional exposure, there is a need for rapid diagnostics, of high sensibility and specificity, and for efficient therapeutic protocols of intervention. The aim of this work was realize comparative analyses of the main parameters about different methods utilized in the enterotoxins detection.
