Abstract

Was report a clinical and surgical case of an anteater attended by Wild Animals Teaching and Research Laboratory (LAPAS), Federal University of Uberlandia, with inability to voluntary feed due motor and neurological deficit. In order to facilitate access to a patient's digestive system, was chose a esophageal intubation, because the esophagostomy tube can remain in the adaptation place for weeks to months, making it easier to nutritional therapy. The number of anteaters assisted in LAPAS is significant, becoming important to develop a technique for dietary therapy appropriate to the needs of this specie, due their particular anatomy. This procedure enabled the nutrition therapy of this specie for 30 days, so simply, quickly and securely.
