The entomology study as educational tool in year 7 (6th series) and 2 of elementary school high school year

The elaboration of this study aimed to analyze the importance of the didactic book for the student's life and approach to the subject: Entomology in the series of 7th year (6th year) the Elementary School and 2nd year of high school adopted by the School Unit Joaquim Parente of Bom Jesus - Piauí. In order to make this work was done analyzes critical in the workbooks ofscience and biology on the topic of Entomology. The following topics were considered as the analysis: theoretical content, visuals, practical activities and information such as number of pagesand organization of subjects. Was verified that both workbooks have good visual aids. Regarding the organization of subjects, 7th year (6th year), presents a more easily understood by the student, because the study of insects is separated from other arthropods, which is not done in the workbook of 2nd year. The subjects of the 2nd year of approaches exists in general all arthropods as: the general characteristics, diversity, anatomy, physiology and reproduction of arthropods. Everyone is made in simultaneously in a comparative way. It is intended with this work, to contribute to the debate on the need for greater involvement of teachers in the process of choosing a workbook.
