Welfare of cattle in a grazing system

Brazil represents one of the greatest powers in terms of world meat production. Allied to this, there is currently a demanding consumer market regarding animal and human welfare. Constantly, animal welfare is associated with the fact that animals can express their behaviors in natural environmental conditions. However, even in good environmental conditions, some animals may experience stress. In this sense, this review aims to describe about animal welfare and the “Five-domains” that guide this theme, as well as identify the main difficulties encountered in the field that make it difficult to reach the highest levels of animal welfare. The review concludes with some recommendations found in the literature that help to enhance the positive effects of animal welfare.
