The importance of wheelchair usage for quality on the life of dogs with motor disabilities

Abstract

This work has as its purpose to contribute with information referred to the importance of wheel chair usage, in order to improve the life quality for dogs that need such help, like to guide their tutors on the care and duties they need. The method was accomplished based on a bibliographic review about the topic, with the intention of avoiding complications to the health and well-being of the animal. The purpose of this work is to approach the best ways to manufacture wheel chairs for animals with locomotory disabillities using low-cost supplies. Analyzing the discussion showed the necessity of an intensified attendance by the caregivers with the animals’ carriers of locomotory deficiency with paralyzed loss, and the use of the wheel chair as an interesting locomotion equipment for the well-being of these animals. The main mean of life quality for these animals are their tutors, therefore, it became necessary to attain a bigger awareness about the usage of specific wheel chairs for the needs of each animal carrier of paralysis.
