Abstract

Long-bone fractures resulting from automobile accidents are commonly occurring conditions in the veterinary medical practice of small animals. New techniques in tests are being used to meet and adapt to orthopedic veterinary traumatology. In this clinical case will be approached the clinical aspects of the patient, the surgical resolution methodology, the anesthetic protocol and the postoperative recommendations for traumatic orthopedic disorders. The purpose of this report was to present a case where the intramedullary pin technique associated with clamp in a normograd position was applied. The technique was satisfactory in neutralizing forces acting on the femur in an oblique spiral fracture, the patient evolved well without complications.
