Abstract

Ozone (O3) is a gas composed of three oxygen atoms, colorless and with a characteristic odor. After the discovery of its medicinal properties, it began to be produced and manipulated in the laboratory, formed by electrical discharges on a medicinal oxygen molecule. Ozone therapy is a technique that consists in the use of ozone gas for therapeutic purposes, it has bactericidal, fungicide, viricidal and healing properties, used in the treatment of various pathologies. The present paper aims to report the case of a canine, female, small, one year old, victim of car accident, who presented severe lacerations in the right inguinal region and right caudal region of the flank. The technique of ozone therapy was used to heal its wounds, four sessions were performed in the period of 23 days, using the bagging method, associated with local cleaning with ozonized serum, application of ozonized oil in the wounds and rectal insufflation. Excellent results were obtained, and it was possible to follow the total healing of both lesions, leaving only alopecic scars after the end of treatment.
