Abstract

Splay leg is a lateral detour of legs of multifactorial etiology. The aim of this study is to report a case of conservative treatment with physiotherapy of constriction of pelvic limbs associated with splay leg in a psittaciforme juvenile. A young specimen of Psittacara leucophthalmus with ulcerated lesions in pelvic limbs and left wing and marked splay leg was treated in the wild animal sector of the Veterinary Hospital of the UFU. Radiographs were performed, and physiotherapy was initiated with treatment of ulcerated wounds, which lasted for 45 days, and it was possible to obtain clinical improvement of the condition.
