Abstract

Within Brazilian dairy cows, milk production has been gaining prominence in the current scenario. Milk samples were collected from all the rooms of the 31 dairy cows in lactation from the properties from October to November of 2013. The cows had no clinical symptoms. Of the animals evaluated 5 (16.1%) presented positive for the diagnosis of CMT varying between one, two and three crosses. E 26 (83.9%) did not present without positivity for the test. It was concluded that the California Mastitis Test (CMT) was able to identify cows with subclinical mastitis in 16.1% of the cows, and 83.9% were negative.
