Abstract

Pseudomembranous cystitis is characterized by the presence of a membrane of necrotic and hemorrhagic tissue in the urinary vesicle and has been described as an unusual obstruction of the lower urinary tract of felines. It is considered a multifactorial disease and can be characterized by recurrent cystitis followed by an inflammatory and infectious process. Diagnosed by ultrasonography, where a thickening of the urinary vesicle wall and irregularity of the internal mucosa where it divides into compartments is observed. Based on the patient's history, physical examination and imaging examination, clearance should be immediate, starting clinical and surgical treatment.
