Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of promixalicina for the control of ecto and endoparasites in Nellore or crossbred cattle in grazing systems, in the region of Presidente Prudente, São Paulo. During 28 days after ingestion of the product, the efficiency of promixalicina in reducing stress behaviors in Nellore animals was evaluated. Thus, a total of 367 animals were used in various animal categories, with steers, heifers and pregnant cows. This study evaluated the supply of promixalicina mixed with protein salt and concentrate, at a dosage of 5 grams per animal per day. The evaluation period was in September and October 2021. To measure the effect of the animals, after being brought into a delimited paddock area, the behavior of the animals was evaluated after 10 minutes of rest, measuring the following stress events: flap of tail; ear flaps; leg lift; restlessness; halter; kicking and aggression. There was a significant reduction of 70% in the behavioral effects of animals. There was no influence on the food intake by the animal, as well as significantly reduced the OPG of the animals. From the present study, it can be inferred positive and satisfactory effects in 21 days with the use of promixalicina in the diet of Nellore cattle on pasture, for the control of Endo and Ectoparasites
