Abstract

The consumption of products of animal origin has facilitated a great increase in the cases of foodborne diseases (DTAs), and has been shown to be a determining factor in cases of food outbreaks, bringing a serious public health problem worldwide. On the other hand, food traceability, associated with other tools, demonstrate great significance in the face of food contamination. The present study carried out a brief review of food traceability, aiming at understanding its importance in the face of food outbreaks and its impact on the population's health.
