Hamster wellbeing and raising method

An animal is considered healthy when it is in a state of biopsychosocial wellbeing. The domestication and method of raising influences significantly in the life of the animals, determining behavioral and physiological aspects. Hamsters are often raised in cages, which are small environments compared to where these rodents usually live when free in nature. The aim of this study is to evaluate the modifications caused by the domestication process in hamsters and, in accordance with it, to establish the most suitable environment in which these animals should live to be in a state of wellbeing.
