Abstract

Integrative medicine is the concept recently adopted to link conventional medicine to alternative and complementary medicine, through the use of ancient healing systems with current medicine. In veterinary medicine, the use of integrative therapies has become increasingly frequent, requiring qualification from professionals to guide and correctly intervene in the clinical particularity of each patient. It is often observed, in clinical routine, that integrative therapies are used as the last alternative to improve the quality of life of animals that did not respond well to conventional treatment. Therefore, the objective of this review is to provide information on the importance of Integrative Medicine in the current scenario and to promote awareness of the benefits of integrative therapies.
