Abstract

Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a benign neoplasm with low probability of metastasis, where its composition is almost exclusively formed by plasma cells. In dogs it is mainly located on the skin, in the oral cavity and in the digestive tract. Its conclusive diagnosis is made through histopathological examination. This paper reports a case of a five-year-old male, mixed breed, who developed an ulcerated mass, of firm consistency, red in color, in the rostral region of the mandible, measuring about two and a half centimeters in diameter, involving the lower incisors and adjacent incisors, where there was already displacement of the tooth pieces. The treatment performed was a bilateral rostral mandibulectomy surgical procedure. The withdrawal presented a safety margin, not requiring the use of chemotherapy. Follow-up was requested every six months.
