Abstract

This report is a case of fungal dermatitis caused by Malassezia sp. in a nine-year-old female poodle canine patient. The animal was referred for clinical care with a history of frequent itching, excessive licking, strong odor in the ear canals, hyperpigmentation in the perianal and perivulvar region and small lesions found on the body with mild alopecia. Topical and systemic treatment was requested in order to reduce the fungal colony, treat otitis and provide better quality of life for the patient.
