Abstract

The scraper of cassava is the root of the cassava integral, ie, pulp and peel, which is chopped and dried in the sun and then ground. It is essentially a food energy due to high content of starch and low protein levels, remembering that energy is the nutrient most needed quantitatively in the diets for the different animal species. Similarly cassava shows that the low protein (2 to 4% in MS), due to this restriction to a diet of cassava-based scraper must be corrected levels of protein. It is rich in amino acids such as lysine, but deficient in methionine, tryptophan and cystine. The full shave of cassava is an excellent alternative energy source in animal feed and can replace a large part of the feed corn or sorghum. Which should be used within the restrictions of each species should be corrected their protein deficiency.
