Cholangiocarcinoma in dogs with metastasis in the spleen: Case report

Abstract

We describe a case of cholangiocarcinoma in a dog, three years, Rottwailer, Veterinary Hospital at the Federal University of Piaui, who had anorexia and nasal bleeding. The presence of nonspecific clinical signs difficult diagnosis of cancer, which was only possible with the histopathology after necropsy of the animal. Liver and spleen were enlarged and the presence of nodules. Microscopic examination showed intense proliferation of cells of the bile ducts, atypical, pleomorphic, hyperchromatic, with abundant cytoplasm and evident nucleoli. The case was diagnosed as intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma with metastasis in the spleen.
