Abstract

Hemivertebra is a congenital defect of the spine resulting in short or deformed vertebrae with consequences in adulthood of disc protrusion or extrusion and may lead to ataxia, paresis or paralysis of members. We report the clinical picture of hemivertebra associated with disc extrusion and spinal fusion of a French Bulldog with 4 years of age who presented acutely paraparesis. Remission of symptoms occurred through hemilaminectomy after 5 hours of diagnosis.
