Abstract

Avian chlamydiosis is one of the main bird originated zoonosis, caused by the obrigatory intracellular bacteria Chlamydopyila psittci, gram-negative, that attacks birds, mammals and reptiles. The actual report refers to a domestic bird from the order of Psittaciformes, from cockatiel’s species, which was attended when presenting typical respiratory and digestive pictures of chlamydiosis. Antibacterial therapy was carried out as a treatment protocol, having as choice enrofloxacin and as support inhalation.
