Dogs that exhibit prolonged respiratory disorders may be one of the clinical signs may be abdominal breathing and snoring. The extension correction palate occurs surgically, through a procedure called Staphylectomy which consists in removing the terminal portion of the soft palate. This report aims to present the case of a Pug dog, 7 years old, with a history of snoring, faintness, and difficulty breathing that was clinically diagnosed as suffering from this syndrome. The animal underwent surgery for excision of the caudal portion of the soft palate. Surgical recovery was quick and the clinical improvement of the animal was evident within a week after surgery.
