Abstract

Anal atresia is a congenital anomaly of character and rare incidence in dogs and cats. Owners of puppies with anorectal congenital anomalies generally seek professional help with two to six weeks on average age of your pet, as observed absence of defecation by the anomaly of perianal structures or the expulsion of these stools by improper holes. The anal atresia consists of a deformity of the rectum and anal opening terminal, resulting in occlusion of the anal outlet. congenital abnormalities may occur in dogs and cats and atresianal results in the closing of the anal abnormal output may be via the feces from the vagina, as well as the urethra. The objective was to report the clinical care of a cat with anal atresia and rectovaginal fistula, and to describe the findings in additional tests and treatment. It was held the blood count, urea, creatinine, X-ray and abdominal ultrasound, which showed up the rectum filled with fecal content designed in the perineal area, with probable vaginal communication. The animal was subjected to corrective and reconstructive surgical treatment of terminal tract of the digestive system and reproductive systems.The surgical procedure was the treatment for correction of congenital anomaly.
