Abstract

Neoplasms in companion animals have been prominent in veterinary medicine due to their higher incidence; especially in animals of old age. Thus, tumors in the oral cavity, for example, account for about 5% of the common neoplasias affecting dogs, being responsible for the presence of metastases in various organs and regions of the body such as the cervical region. The types of neoplasias that affect some oral tumors are epithelial and mesenchymal tumors, most of which are tumors of round cells and identified as masses present in the subcutaneous and cutaneous tissue. The Mixed Tumor is characterized as having epithelial and mesenchymal cells at its origin. The present case report is an old dog, affected by mesenchymal neoplasia and mixed tumor in the oral cavity and cervical region, which was submitted to surgical treatment, obtaining improvement in clinical status and quality of life.
