Abstract

The objective of this study was to report a case of paracostal eventration in a feline patient, with no defined breed pattern, six months old, female, who attended the Veterinary Hospital with a history of running over and signs of respiratory injuria. In total abdominal ultrasonography, the abnormal location of the liver portion in the thoracic region was evidenced, without diaphragmatic rupture, diagnosing paracostal eventration. Surgical correction of the lesioned site was performed, and the intercostal musculature was reconstructed by myorrhaphy. Soon after the surgical procedure, the patient presented expressive improvement in the picture of respiratory and postoperative difficulty and satisfactory recovery, presenting stable after the surgical procedure performed.
