Abstract

The lipid-rich carcinoma (LRC) is a special type of mammary carcinoma in female dogs. It is a rare tumor and is characterized by presenting intracytoplasmic vacuoles similar to adipocytes. We report the occurrence of a LRC in the Fila Brasileiro dog, 11 years old. The histopathologic, histochemical and immunohistochemical confirmed this diagnosis. The dog died after surgery, but usually this histological type of mammary tumor has a poor prognosis and aggressive behavior.
