Abstract

The objective of this study was to report on the enucleation of the right eyeball after trauma in cat. Physical and laboratory tests showed no alterations. Methadone (0,2 mg/kg) was used intramuscularly as preanesthetic medication. Propofol (3 mg/kg) + fentanil (2 mcg/kg) was used intravenously for the induction process and the patient was intubated and maintained under inhalational isoflurane anesthesia. Then, the retrobulbar block was performed with bupivacaine 0,5%. Throughout the procedure, the parameters remained within the reference values without the need for analgesic rescue.
