Abstract

Acquired Urinary incontinence is a debilitating condition that affects spayed females. The clinical manifestations can occur at any time after ovariohysterectomy and results in serious problems in patient management. This study aimed to analyze the incidence of iatrogenic urinary incontinence in bitches spayed by the Zoonosis Control Center of the city of Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, in the years 2013 and 2014. Via telephone, 252 tutors were investigated on urinary incontinence and its development after castration. Of 263 spayed bitches, 3.04 % (8/263) had clinical signs of the impairment, all with a time interval of at least two years between surgery and this research.
