Abstract

The soybean (Glycine max L.) has great economic importance for Brazil, which became the largest exporter and one of the largest producers of grain. Of all agricultural operations for soybean cultivation, mechanized harvesting is among the most important processes, and the knowledge of adequate techniques is essential. The objective of this study was to evaluate grain losses in soybean mechanized harvesting in the Araguaia Valley region, in the Mato Grosso State. For this, were determined losses on the cutting platform, in the internal mechanisms and total losses of the mechanized harvesting of the soybean were evaluated using two types of systems, draper platform and conventional platform, in two different plots. No statistical differences were verified in relation to the losses by different mechanisms of the cutting deck and field.
